If this is your first session, you will be asked to fill in a health and information form, so it is best to come a little earlier for your first massage. You will be introduced to your massage therapist and he/she will ask you more involved questions about what you require, if you have any injuries, pain, illness, stress and what type of massage you enjoy. This is a great time to let the massage therapist know what sort of massage you would like.
This depends on the type of massage you are receiving, for most remedial massages, the therapist will ask you to undress down to your underwear, it is preferable for women to take off their bra, but if you feel uncomfortable, the massage therapist can work around the bra straps and just undo the back straps while working on the back. The therapist will leave the room while you are undressing and dressing.
The most important thing is to make you comfortable during the treatment. The therapist will instruct you if he/she needs you to adjust the position or turn over. A lot of clients close their eyes and relax during a session, while others prefer to talk with the therapist. This is up to what feels good for you. Please do not hesitate to ask a question at any time.
